Life Extension Bee Immune — best standardized pick

Life Extension Bee Immune Propolis Capsules bottle

Propolis varies a lot from hive to hive and season to season, so two jars labeled “1,000 mg” can contain very different amounts of the compounds people are actually after. Life Extension addresses that by using Promunel, a branded brown propolis extract standardized to 12% polyphenols. The label dose, one capsule twice a day, delivers 400 mg of extract and 48 mg of polyphenols daily — the same amount used in the brand's cited clinical research.

Good for: people who want a consistent, measurable dose. Keep in mind: 60 capsules is a 30-day supply at the label dose, so it runs out faster than the 100-count bottles.

Beeyoutiful Bee Propolis — best simple daily capsule

Beeyoutiful Bee Propolis capsules bottle

A single-ingredient capsule, manufactured in the USA. The supplement facts panel lists 300 mg of 5:1 propolis extract per capsule, equivalent to 1,500 mg of raw propolis. (The store title says “500 mg”; we go by the facts panel.) Nothing added beyond the capsule itself, and 100 capsules per bottle.

Good for: anyone who wants plain propolis and nothing else. Keep in mind: it is not standardized, so the polyphenol content is not stated.

NOW Propolis 1,500 — best widely available option

NOW Foods Propolis 1500 100 veg capsules bottle

NOW's capsule has the same core spec as Beeyoutiful: 300 mg of 5:1 propolis extract per capsule, equivalent to 1,500 mg raw, in a 100-count bottle of vegetarian capsules. NOW is a long-running supplement brand with GMP-certified manufacturing, and this is one of the most widely stocked propolis capsules on Amazon.

Good for: buyers who prefer a large, established brand with fast Amazon shipping. Keep in mind: the label says adults only and not for pregnant or nursing women.

Bee&YOU Propolis + Multivitamin Capsules — best combination formula

Bee&YOU Propolis Multivitamin Ginger Ginseng Capsules

Bee&YOU combines propolis extract with vitamin C, vitamin D3, zinc, B vitamins, Korean red ginseng and ginger extract. The brand sources its propolis from the Anatolian region of Turkey. The label directs 2 capsules once or twice a day, preferably between meals.

Good for: people who would otherwise take a multivitamin separately. Keep in mind: if you already take vitamin D or zinc, check your total intake, and ginseng is not for everyone — ask your doctor if you take medication.

Liquid extracts — best if you want to adjust the dose

Liquids let you take a few drops or more, directly or mixed with honey. Most are alcohol-based and do not dissolve in water; our guide to taking propolis explains the difference.

Bee&YOU Propolis Pure Liquid Extract

Bee&YOU Propolis Pure Liquid Extract Ultra Strength

Labeled at 30% propolis. Take it directly or with honey or yogurt. Because it is alcohol-based, it is not the right choice for children.

YS Eco Bee Farms 70% Ultra Strength

YS Eco Bee Farms 70% Ultra Strength Propolis bottle

A small 1 oz bottle labeled at 70% propolis, the most concentrated liquid here. Start with the smallest amount on the label, since strength also means a strong, resinous taste.

How we chose

We did not run lab tests, and we do not claim to have. We compared products using what each brand publishes on its label and product page: the amount of propolis extract, whether the extract is standardized, the label dose, and who the brand says it is not suitable for. We left out products that did not disclose enough to compare, and we do not repeat health claims the brands make.

Safety

  • Allergy: skip propolis if you are allergic to bees, bee products, poplar or balsam of Peru.
  • Blood thinners and surgery: propolis may slow clotting. Talk to your doctor if you take anticoagulants, and stop at least two weeks before surgery.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: not enough safety data; several of these labels say not recommended.
  • Children: adult capsules and alcohol-based liquids are not for kids.

FAQ

What is the best propolis supplement?

It depends on what you value. If you want a product standardized to a set polyphenol content, Life Extension Bee Immune is the only one on this list that is. For a simple once-a-day capsule, Beeyoutiful Bee Propolis and NOW Propolis 1,500 both use 300 mg of a 5:1 extract per capsule.

What does “5:1 extract, equivalent to 1,500 mg” mean?

The capsule contains 300 mg of concentrated extract, made from roughly five times that weight of raw propolis. “1,500 mg” describes the starting material, not what is in the capsule.

Are capsules or liquid propolis better?

Neither is proven better. Capsules are easier to dose consistently; liquids let you adjust the amount and can be mixed with honey or, if water-soluble, with drinks.

Who should avoid propolis supplements?

Anyone allergic to bee products, people on blood thinners, people with surgery planned in the next two weeks, and pregnant or breastfeeding women unless a doctor approves.
